NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY
Surgical rhinoplasty (nose job), is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures. Surgery is expensive, often in the region of £5000-£10000, with many patients having concerns regarding possible complications, long recovery times and poor results.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty, sometimes called nose filler, is a relatively new and very popular treatment that can instantly transform the appearance of your nose without having to go under the knife.
It is most effective at changing your appearance from the side and 45 degree angle, which are typically the views that cause most concern. It can also change the view from the front to a small extent.
It has several benefits over surgery:
· Significantly lower cost
· Instant, often more natural results
· Minimal swelling and bruising
· Almost no downtime
· Avoids a general anaesthetic
Bumps and curves will create the illusion that the nose is more prominent than it actually is. By adding filler to certain areas of the nose, it actually gives a smaller appearance, which does sound counterintuitive at first!
The main things that nose filler can help with are:
· Straightening bumps and dips along the nose
· Lifting a drooping tip which can contribute to a hook shaped nose.
· Sharpening the tip
· Correcting very slight asymmetry
The overall effect of addressing these areas is to give a smaller side profile, and a straighter nose from 45 degrees and side on. Results typically last 12-18 months, with the duration increasing with each top up.
The best results are achieved in noses that are curved (sometimes referred to as hooked), or have bumps visible from the side profile.
Whilst it is an excellent treatment, it is not suitable for those wanting to:
· Narrow a wider nose
· Reduce the size of the tip
· Reduce nostril size
· Reduce the size of a nose that is particularly large in proportion to the face
· Have their nose treated if they have previously been operated on or subjected to trauma. They have a much higher risk of vascular occlusion.
We will advise you at your consultation if we think a surgical opinion might be more suitable.
Whilst still very safe, this is a higher risk procedure: it is vital it is completed by a medical professional who is trained to deal with complications. It is essential you are available to come back to the clinic in the first 48 hours after treatment.
Nose filler works very well in combination with chin and jawline filler to improve the side profile, known as profile harmonisation. If you are considering treatment in more than one of these areas, a consultation is recommended for a full face assessment before proceeding with any area individually.
